The mobile app for field crews

VexOp Field is the iPhone app your crew uses on site: their day, jobs, time, photos, signatures and quotes.

What it is

VexOp Field is the native iPhone app for field staff, free on the App Store. It runs on the same account as the web app: nothing to sync, nothing to set up twice. For employees it is designed to be their primary tool for the whole workday.

Here is the link to send your crew: https://apps.apple.com/au/app/vexop-field/id6785145708

What crews do with it

See their day and bookings, open jobs with the address ready to navigate, clock on and off, tick off checklists, take photos with captions and mark-up that attach to the job, fill forms, capture customer signatures, message the team, check their licences and submit their weekly timesheet. If their role allows it, they can also create jobs, quotes and invoices on the spot.

Tapping On my way marks the job On Route, records the driving kilometres on the job and, when arrival texts are switched on, lets the customer know. The phone’s location is read once, at that tap, to work out the distance; it is never tracked in the background.

Clocking on, status changes, checklists and photos work without signal and catch up when it returns. Signatures, form submissions and texts need a connection.

Setting a crew member up

Accounts are created by the employer. Signing into the app with a personal Apple or Google account that has not been added to your business will not get anyone in.

The iPhone app has no two-factor step. A crew member who turns on two-factor sign-in can still use the web app, but not VexOp Field, so leave it off for people who work from the app.

  1. 1.Add them as an employee first, under HR, then Employees, so they have a VexOp account.
  2. 2.They install VexOp Field from the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/au/app/vexop-field/id6785145708
  3. 3.They sign in with the same email and password as the web app, or with Apple or Google on the same email address.

Android

The app is iPhone-only for now. Crew on Android can use the web app in their phone browser, and My Day works well there.
