The getting started checklist

When you first sign in, VexOp gives you a setup checklist. It lives on the Get Started page and also appears on your dashboard until you finish it. You do not tick anything manually: as you complete each piece of setup, the checklist notices and marks it done.

You can hide the checklist for the day if you are busy. It comes back tomorrow until everything is done.

The ten steps

Work through these in any order. The order below is the one we recommend because each step makes the next one easier.

1. 1.Account created. Done the moment you signed up.
2. 2.Add your company details. Settings, then Business, then Company profile. Your trading name, ABN and contact details appear on quotes and invoices, so get them right early.
3. 3.Upload your logo. Settings, then Business, then Branding. Your logo brands your documents, emails and client portal.
4. 4.Add your first staff member. HR, then Employees. Even a business of one benefits: your name appears on schedules and timesheets.
5. 5.Set operating hours. Settings, then Business, then Availability and booking. These drive scheduling and your booking availability.
6. 6.Create your first job. Operations, then the New Job button. A test job is fine, you can delete it later.
7. 7.Send your first invoice. Invoices, then create one from a quote or from scratch.
8. 8.Connect your accounting software. Settings, then Integrations & Add-ons. Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks are supported.
9. 9.Set up your first automation. Settings, then Automations. Start simple, such as a booking confirmation.
10. 10.Set up your first stream. Settings, then Workflow, then Streams. Streams are work queues with a timeframe attached.
